Great video of Ninh Binh, Vietnam. The boat ride through the caves was so fascinating. The stairs to the top of the mountain were spectacular too… The Insta 360 camera was a great way to videotape your motorcycle ride from behind as you were riding the motorcycle. Your adventure in Ninh Binh, Vietnam was worth every penny!

I am 74 and last February I almost died from heart attack when I climbed up the 500 steps of the Dragon Mountain in Hang Mua. It was very nice but very exhausting for an old guy like me. If you folks are still in Ninh Binh, I recommend you to make a boat ride in Thung Nham valley where you can see wild birds like storks, cranes, herons, teals, etc… and especially rare bicolored (black/white) langurs unique to that area. BTW did you check-out Mai Châu, Sapa, Ha Giang, Ban Gioc waterfall, Ba Be lake, Mu Cang Chai and Pu Luong yet? Those two last places are still quite wild and not very well known by foreign tourists.

Doctor Herman, who works downstairs in the morgue, recommended the goat curry that is popular among locals. The good Doctor informed us, fellow Lodge members, that the goats have their throats cleanly slit after being boiled alive and beaten to raise their energy, fear and ultimately flavour. The good Doctor witnessed, but did not participate, in the boiling and beating of a goat and it took a full 4 hours while everyone was enjoying plenty of local 'wine'. A most memorable occasion in which Doctor Herman declined the final cooked product, but anyone can experience it. Local culture at its most fascinating.
