MEKONG RIVER TOUR IN BEN TREYou can visit the Mekong River on a day trip from Saigon, but I wanted to spend more time in the Mekong Delta so I stayed two nights in Ben Tre. You can explore the Mekong River on an organized tour but I wanted to go on my own, so I rented a motorboat for VND 250,000 per hour for three hours, which at the time comes out to about USD 32. We visited a brick factory and a coconut processing plant. We also rode a small canoe to explore the smaller channels of the river.If you're traveling in a group, then I think renting a motorboat is the better option. You'll have the boat all to yourself and you can explore the Mekong River on your own time.
