Today we are leaving Hanoi and heading about 8 hours northwest to Ha Giang. It is our first long haul day bus we have taken in Southeast Asia and we are very impressed. We are in a very nice «limo bus» complete with comfy seats, a lot of room and Wifi (that works)! It is a nice drive and once we start getting up into the mountains, it is beautiful and has us very excited for the days that lie ahead! We are coming to Ha Giang with plans to do the Ha Giang loop which is a 400KM loop through the mountains which is typically done on a motorbike. After we had such an amazing time renting a car for the Mae Hong Son Loop in Northern Thailand, we are hopeful we can yet again rent a car to complete the loop in Vietnam. We have heard mixed things on if this will be possible but we are hoping to have better luck once in Ha Giang where the loop begins!Once we arrive, we get checked into our guesthouse and have some lunch. We then set out to find out what our options will be for the loop.We try several different guesthouses and unfortunately do not have any luck. We learn that the only ways to complete the loop are on a motorbike by yourself, on a motorbike with a hired driver, renting a car with a hired driver, or some kind of «big» tour. We really want the freedom and independence to do the loop on our own without a driver so after much debating, we finally decide to take the leap and rent a motorbike on our own!We are a bit anxious about being on a motorbike for so many days on windy mountain roads, but we are VERY excited about the days to come!——————————————————Some of our FAVORITE Camera Gear:Fuji XT3: DJI Mavik Air: GoPro Hero 7: Rode VideoMic Go: Joby GorillaPod 5K: Save $65 on your first Airbnb!
